Quotes..

This sign at shops totally cracked me up, I quickly snuck a photo while shop lady wasn't watching on cell phone.

Farm Stay Visitors

Zara looking very snug indeed. She had scared off Freya who had only popped down to say hello... Zara petrified poor old Freya, I don't think Freya will bother again trying to make friends with Zara.

Gardening by the Moon

I try to follow the principals of gardening by the moon

plants that produce above ground eg spinach and silverbeet should be planted during the Waxing Moon (New to Full Moon)

Monday harvest was 13 Passionfruit YUM!
Linking up with Harvest Monday

Books...

My latest book on audio and talk about laugh - Kerre is an extremely gifted speaker, who I fell in love with when she hosted the Diana Gabaldon's event. Kerre had the room in fits of laughter! Short Fat Chick to Marathon Runner is making me chuckle. I think I am going to enjoy this book...

I have no desire to run a marathon ever in my life, EVER! As Kerre reads to me her book (being read to is divine!) about her journey during her mid-life, menopausal life stage to try something new that is way outside of her comfort zone, I'm laughing out loud to her descriptions. It's great to be listening to the book as I'm in the transition age and  I have stepped outside of my comfort zone to take on a huge challenge, no not to run a marathon something I have no desire to do. Ever!

I'm being bold and taking a chance as I'm going back to school to get a degree.

Will share more once I've told my friends in person - wouldn't it be just awful if they read my big news on the blog.

Zara has only a week left of her stay, we do think she has enjoyed staying here

Sunday 19th May 2013

Molly goat sure is cute for a goat don't you think. She has had a bit of grief with a vaccination site on her neck - It turned into a huge abscess. Quite a messy job apparently, James was a bit grossed out - He had the job of holding Molly down and watching while Brent opened it up, got rid of all the pus and washed it out with tea tree oil. Today it looks much better - Just goes to show how good some of the tradition herbal remedies are.
We will keep an eye on Molly over the next week to make sure she is OK.

I think Tex has been here.

 The engine surgeon at work

James's ute blew its head gasket - The corrosion patches in the aluminium cylinder head were welded up and the head re machined. The timing chain tensioner is being refitted here - This turned out to be a mite fiddly. It got cussed out

Brent is used to working on American V8 engines  - He got his first Ford V8 when he was 16. Most things are second nature now and usually done without an engine manual.
This one took a bit longer as he had to double check every thing and do a bit of reading as he went.

I think Zara could hear all the swearing coming from the barn.

Saturday 18th May

The morning started off with a low mist over our land - very pretty!

Saturday I received my  Reiki level 2  attunement....

It was held at a stunning place - just perfect for me - she has a lovely vegetable garden
 berry house (drool)
and a tiny house she is doing up as a retreat.

Farwell....
Tex the bloke has gone to his new home with lots of new lady sheep. They already had a ram but he doesn't know what he's doing - No worries about that with Tex.

Good Morning

The cherry trees are changing colour for autumn

New cups from Wedgewood - design Sarah's garden made me think of you Sarah!.

Abbey had her appointment with Mike the Homoeopath, I can feel a stirring of hope within me. Mike took Abbey's history and commented - "No pressure" as if wow I have a tough case here. I feel very hopeful as he hasn't given her anything - instead he has taken Abbey's case away to work on and will email her.

Farm Stay Guests...

Zara is real hard to get a photo of - I need someone else to help pat her and keep her still. Zara makes a fuss of me UNTIL she sees her dinner plate then I am totally ignored. Zara is here for another week.

Geese

I don't think I shared that three geese went to a new home and not in a pot.

The geese are happy  don't yea think - they are characters that is for sure! Their latest prank is to rattle the barn door while Brent works in it at night, which results in Brent opening it and giving them tit bits of corn..

Garden...
the autumn garden is producing - the chillies are turning red

Broccoli on the menu most nights

mmmm fresh kale

calendula

Farm Stay Guest...

Zara doesn't want to talk about diets, she  is putting on weight, but she  can eat half a bowl of nuts a day....

Knitting

SWOON Julie from Little Cotton Rabbits has released AMAZING knitting patterns with soo much details of her little Rabbits.

Pinterest has soo many fun pins of Julie's work with lots of ideas of colour schemes.

Of course we brought both the pattern's and so did one of my friends. They were approx $15.00NZ for both patterns I really hope Julie makes lots of income from sharing her pattern. I assure you you NEED to buy her patterns.
